I am a journalist and pipe smoker living in London and member of the Pipe Club of London. I like a lot your site and your information. It’s really a very good source for Pipe lovers and smokers. Time ago, in the 90’s, I worked one year in Hilversum for the Spanish Department of Radio Netherlands but I never learnt dutch. Sorry.
I have a query for you. After the end of HH Vintage Syrian that you followed with a lot of precission and interesting meetings with Per Jensen, I am wandering if there are at least one producer using real Syrian Latakia. Some friends told me about Wellauer & Co in Switzerland, but it seems outside Switzerland is Planta who produce some Wellauer’s blends…but with Syrian or Cyprian. I am not an expert but I smoked the swiss Latakia Mixture from Wellauer and is far better than the Planta blends: Best, Mixture and English Blend. What information do you have about Wellauer?. Have they Syrian Latakia in their blends?.
I would apreciate a lot your response and attention because your are a reference for all of us.
