Hi Arno,
What in INTERESTING Site you have – and containing SO MUCH detail . . .
I AM a smoker, and occasionally do use a pipe, though I mainly hand-roll these days . . . .
My reason for writing to you may seem a little strange – though actually NOT UNRELATED to some of the information on your site . . .

I am trying to trace two of the daughters of the gentleman who I am assuming OWNED Theodorus Niemeyer BV back in the early 1960s i.e. BEFORE it was sold to Rothmans International, and ultimately to BAT. I believe his first name was in fact Theodorus.

The reason for this inquiry is the fact that I met these two sisters on a holiday we all spent at a farm called “Slade” on Dartmoor, in the UK, in the late 60s/early 70s and I have recently created a website to enable people who spent time at this farm, to rediscover old friends from the time, and share photographs and memories of those happy times.

There is also a FORUM that is linked from the Website . . . .

The two sisters were called “Pommie” (or “Pummie”) and Nina, and they were both very interested in horses and riding. Indeed they eventually purchased a Pony from the owner of “Slade”, which was brought back to their home in Holland.

I understand that it was a large family with actually SIX daughters and three Sons. Although I only met the two I mention above, I have discovered that two of the other daughters, Eva and Caroline, also holidayed at the same place. I have no idea of the names of the Sons

I remember their Surname to be Niemeyer for sure, and that their family were “Tobacco Magnates” in Holland – which explains my approach to you, in this matter.

Recent research I have done, suggests that their Father must have been the last “Family” owner, Director or Chairman of the Company.

Koninklijke Theodorus Niemeyer BV.

The dates I Have for him are 1910 – 2008

The problem with daughters is that they tend to marry, and their names change . . . . .

Might any of them still be shareholders perhaps?

I know that my contemporaries and I on the website would LOVE to hear from them and reminisce over those wonderful times.

If you CAN help, I would be enormously grateful if you could pass My Email address to ANY of them, and mention “Mrs Coaker at Slade Farm on Dartmoor”

The Website I made is at: https://chrisnmiller.co.uk

If they SEE the front page – they will understand immediately . . .

The PhotoGallery contains over 1000 pictures, but I can send pictures of the girls, if you would send me your email address?

Thank you so much for reading this far . . . . .

If you can help in ANY way, I’d be most grateful . . . .

Best Regards

Chris N Miller
